In an immersion setup, your ASIC miner is fully submerged in a specialized dielectric (non-conductive) fluid. This fluid absorbs heat from the mining components much faster than air. The heated fluid is then pumped through a heat exchanger, allowing you to capture that thermal energy and reuse it to heat your home, hot tub, or domestic water supply, all while completely eliminating noisy ASIC fans.

Standard air-cooled ASIC miners can exceed 75 decibels, which is too loud for most homes. By replacing high-RPM fans with our liquid hydro or immersion systems, operating noise levels drop below 30 dB. Even with our optional outdoor dry cooler (if you want to mine 24/7, not just for heat), our systems are quiet enough to run indoors or on a residential patio without disturbing your household.

Hashrate House hydro and immersion cooling systems come with a 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the Hashrate House box, hoses, fittings, and integrated coolers. Both need a dedicated 240V circuit installed by a licensed electrician. The Aqueon Hydro uses a 9 ft NEMA L6-30 plug (verify the circuit can handle 5,500 W) or can be hardwired. The HashTub immersion heater needs a dedicated 30A, 240V hardwired circuit; a complete HashTub (tub pumps, control board, ionizer, spa control, and heater) runs on one dedicated 60A, 240V GFCI spa circuit per NEC Article 680. The immersion system's pump and miner breakers come pre-wired.

While our systems are designed for straightforward residential installation, most 5 kW (5,000 W) hydro and immersion systems require a dedicated 240V single-phase circuit. We require a licensed electrician to install the supply circuit (a NEMA L6-30 receptacle or hardwiring for the Aqueon; a hardwired 30A circuit for the HashTub immersion heater, or a 60A GFCI spa circuit for a complete HashTub) to ensure it meets all local electrical and safety codes.

Look at it through the "sunk cost" model. If you already pay to heat a living space, a water heater, a hot tub, or a pool, that electrical cost is already spent. Generating that heat with an ASIC instead means any BTC earned is pure upside. For the numbers: the standard Aqueon Hydro with the M64 preinstalled runs at about 19.9 J/TH at 5,000 W (5 kW); upgrading to an M74 (for the difference at current market price) brings that closer to 12 J/TH at the same 5,000 W (5 kW).

Facility hosting is simple, but the heat at commercial hosting sites is wasted. Mining at home lets you capture that energy for home heating, reduce energy costs, and keep full control over your setup. Hosting facilities often come with higher overhead fees and none of the heat-reuse benefits. Nothing feels better than showering or soaking in the Bitcoin your heater just generated.

Pick pools with the most transparency in their payout structure that are auditable, like Ocean.xyz or other PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares) pools. PPLNS pays you for the actual shares you mine. FPPS (Full Pay Per Share) pools remove variance, but you aren't paid your full share and your work can be diluted into processes you might not agree with. Ultimately, solo mining is the real win and not a pipe dream: over 30 people solo-mined blocks last year on less hardware than our systems.
